About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Marion and I am a fully qualified and experienced Integrative Therapist.
I enjoy working with both adults and young people, integrating various evidence based, therapeutic approaches.
I pride myself on being warm, honest and non-judgemental. The most important aspect of my work is building open, authentic and trusting relationships with my clients. This enables me to provide safe, supportive environments, and enriching therapeutic experiences for my clients.
At present, I offer an online and in person counselling service.
Please see my website if you would like further details.
Practice description
There may be many reasons why you are considering counselling at this time. Perhaps you would like to work through something specific or you may be unsure quite what you need. You might be experiencing painful, difficult emotions, had a recent significant life event or want to explore something more historical.
Throughout our lives, we may experience multiple events that impact us. This can result in us feeling anxious, low in mood or in a state of distress. You may have difficult thoughts and emotions, or are struggling with your mental or physical health.
These are all areas we can work on together, enabling a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself, your emotions and your experiences.
I combine different therapeutic approaches, mainly person-centred, transactional analysis and DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy). I work in a relational way which strengthens our counselling relationship.
Alongside my private practice, I work within a specialist therapeutic service for adults and children with various, sometimes complex needs, offering individual psychotherapy and group DBT therapy. I have also been a counsellor at a secondary school for three and a half years.
I have additional experience working for a charity supporting children and families through bereavement and for people who have impacted by sexual assault, violence and abuse.
I am passionate about offering an inclusive practice, with a specialist focus on working within the neurodivergent community.
Before qualifying as a counsellor, I was an Occupational Therapist, specialising in Neurology. I believe this complements my inclusive and diverse therapeutic approach.

My first session
Following an initial free 20-minute call, I will email you a contract to have a read through and sign. We can then go through this contract together at the first session, highlighting the confidentiality and cancellation policy in place.
I will complete a short assessment with you, where I aim to deepen my understanding of what has brought you to counselling. This will include collecting your basic personal details such as next of kin’s contact and GP details. I aim to gain some understanding of the issues you are facing and how I might be able to support you. This assessment and any other written work or notes made are held securely under data protection/GDPR.
During this initial session we can explore how you would like us to work so that I can ensure a collaborative relationship. We will establish our working boundaries and arrange following sessions. We can discuss anything you want to during each session as staying within your frame of reference is the most important aspect to my work.
There is no specific time limit on how many sessions we can have although we will talk about this on an ongoing basis. Some people choose to have 6 to 12 sessions, or for some the work can be ongoing and longer term.
If there is anything else you would like to know please do get in touch.
