About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified Â鶹ԭ´´ registered counsellor/ therapist working with adults of 18+.

Sometimes those who love and care for us find it difficult to know how to support us when we are struggling. Or we might find ourselves feeling alone, unable to talk to anyone about how we feel.

It can also be hard to seek support or help, especially if we are used to putting others needs before our own, or used to being self-reliant.

But simply pushing on, hoping things will improve, often leads to a build-up of feelings which can becoming overwhelming, or physical manifestations of stress and anxiety.

It can also lead to us feeling disconnected from ourselves or others, particularly if we shut off our feelings in order to get through the day to day.

Therapy with me offers you a non-judgemental and supportive place to talk through and explore any difficult feelings or challenges you are facing. I will listen to you with care and empathy, and help you understand yourself more fully.

Together we can explore any obstacles, difficulties or patterns that may have become self- limiting, or which are impacting your emotional wellbeing.

I aim to help you develop greater confidence, self -esteem and agency to face challenges, and make choices which lead you towards a healthier, happier life.

Practice description

I am an integrative therapist, which means that I have trained in all the main schools of psychotherapy, but adapt my approach for each client, because all of my clients are unique.

I often work with attachment, humanistic, and relational psychodynamic theories and also with body psychotherapy, since I believe what impacts our minds, also impacts our bodies and vice versa.

I qualified from the Minster Centre, one of the UK’s leading schools of psychotherapy with a Â鶹ԭ´´ accredited diploma (level 7) in Integrative counselling and am registered with the Â鶹ԭ´´ and abide by their ethical framework in all my therapeutic work. I am currently undertaking a post qualification certificate in Embodied Resonance and Relating at the Minster Centre.

Outside of my private practice I currently work for a perinatal service, supporting new parents and pregnant women, and also with creative clients for Trinity Laban University of Music and Dance. Previously, I worked for Lambeth Mind and at Centre70 in West Norwood, supporting adults with a range of mental health challenges and complex trauma.

Prior to training as a therapist, I worked for 15 years in HR for large corporate organisations and financial institutions coaching and counselling employees up to Board level, which has greatly supported my therapeutic work.

I believe anyone can benefit from therapy, but often my clients seek support for

• grief and loss

• relationships, sex and intimacy, pregnancy, miscarriage

• anxiety, stress, low mood or depression

• work stress, burnout, work-life balance, redundancy

• life transitions; divorce / separation, retirement

• somatic issues; eating disorders, panic attacks, exhaustion, pain

• physical, sexual or emotional trauma, child sexual abuse

My first session

I work with individual adults (18+) in West Dulwich which is conveniently located for those travelling from East Dulwich, Herne Hill, Tulse Hill, West Norwood and Brixton. I also work online via Zoom.

Sessions are weekly, and for 50 minutes.

I offer a complementary call with each new client, so you can ask me any questions which might be helpful to you and find out more about me, and I can understand your reason for seeking therapy.

Following this, the first session will be to a chance meet and see how it feels to work together, and decide how we want to move forward.

Ongoing sessions can be either short term (typically 6 or 12 sessions) or ongoing, allowing for greater exploration and support.

A first session with me costs a reduced rate of £50, and carries no further obligation. Subsequent sessions cost £70 for online work or £75 for in person.
