About me and my therapy practice
People seek counselling for many reasons, and taking the first step toward helping yourself can feel daunting. Realising that you’re ready to speak with a therapist can be a significant moment.
I know firsthand how transformative therapy can be. It can provide meaningful support for individuals facing a wide range of issues, such as; depression and anxiety, low self-esteem and loss of identity, addiction, trauma and challenging personal relationships.
Our sessions can be a valuable resource for anyone looking to explore these issues and others and potentially improve their overall well-being, gain insight into their thoughts and behaviours, and develop skills to navigate life's challenges.
I am here to listen to you and understand what’s happening in your life. I welcome you to contact me for a no-obligation, free 20-minute session where we can discuss your experiences and explore how we might work together.
If you'd like to take the next step, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to support you.
I have 6 years of experience within the NHS, private and charity sectors working with people like yourself, I genuinely care about who you are and what you're going through.
I am trained in Integrative Psychotherapy, which means I draw on insights and methods from various psychological theories and practices. This means I will tailor my approach to meet your needs and circumstances.
To help give you a sense of what I am like, the most common feedback I get is that I am calming and easy to be around, thoughtful, genuine and kind.
Practice description
My Integrative practice is grounded in a humanistic approach but also utilises concepts from existential, psychodynamic and relational therapies. I have also found that mindfulness, cognitive behaviour, and dialectical behaviour techniques can be useful to clients.
Alongside my private practice. I also have a part-time position at the NHS in the psychological well-being service for staff. This is both rewarding and also provides valuable experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
I am dedicated to continued learning and developing my practice through reading and professional workshops.
My first session
Establishing a sense of safety and comfort is essential for the therapeutic relationship to flourish. The initial session often involves getting to know each other, discussing your background, and understanding your current struggles. This information tailors the approach and identifies potential areas of focus for future sessions.
While meaningful change usually takes time and consistent effort, the first session can set the foundation for progress. Many people find relief in simply sharing their thoughts and emotions with a non-judgmental professional. Feeling heard and understood can be a powerful step towards positive change.
Online or Telephone consultation: Free (20 min)
Session Length: 50-60 minutes
I look forward to speaking with you.
