About me and my therapy practice
You may not have felt right for some time, or maybe a recent change in your life is causing worry and concern. I am an experienced person-centred counsellor and able to help if you are struggling with grief and loss, anxiety and stress, or feelings of low self-esteem.
It can be daunting to reach out for counselling. I understand and am happy to explain my approach and what to expect.
I offer a calm, confidential, and non-judgmental space, where you will have time to focus on the experiences that have brought you to counselling. You will decide what we talk about. I will give you time to process your thoughts and feelings, and understand yourself more clearly. I will not advise you or tell you what to do, but I will be there with you, listening to understand from your perspective.
I have experience working in a specialised bereavement setting and a charity offering a general counselling service where I supported a variety of clients with differing needs. Prior to counselling, I had over twenty years of experience supporting people in the workplace. This included supporting staff with work-related stress, those returning to work after lengthy absences and those remaining in work with health conditions or disabilities. It has given me an appreciation of the stresses surrounding employment.
Practice description
My therapy room is situated in the WV6 area of Wolverhampton.
It is wheelchair accessible, with a car park, and it is on a main bus route.
Each session will last for 50 minutes.
My standard fee is £50 per session. My concessionary fee is £35 per session, available to the unwaged and trainee counsellors.
My first session
I believe the relationship between us is key. I therefore offer a free 30-minute call without commitment to ensure you feel comfortable working with me. You can ask questions and decide if you would like to book a session with me. I will get an idea of what has brought you to seek counselling and what you would like to achieve. It is an opportunity to ensure I am the right counsellor for you.
In our first session, we can begin to get to know one another and establish how we will work together and the focus of our sessions. You may have some specific goals you wish to set. There will be some paperwork to complete at the beginning of this session.
