I offer individual weekly sessions from Monday to Thursday. Please get in touch to discuss availability.
I offer an initial free fifteen minute telephone discussion to see if I feel like the right counsellor for you, it is important we feel we can work together and you feel comfortable to share with me. If you wish to proceed we can arrange an initial session.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative therapist, with a focus on mind and body connection. I have an understanding of different theories which will be applied throughout each session. With an understanding of trauma and how it can remain in the body we will work together to rejoin mind and body.
My journey to becoming a counsellor has included working within the care sector and in schools, with those who have learning disabilities, ASD and ADHD. I completed my initial counselling training levels 2-4 before undertaking my level six trauma training.
Each session will be tailored to you, what works for one client may not for another and this is an important part of our relationship, offering a flexible approach to support your individual needs.
Therapy is a collaborative process, together we create a safe space free from judgement to explore what is present. Exploring elements of stress, anxiety, depression or other issues. I may offer mindfulness or grounding techniques to support you to feel more stable in life. It is not my role to provide advice or answers, I believe you have the ability to find what you are seeking when we create an environment you feel safe to do so.
Practice description
I provide online sessions via zoom, long and short term as required by you.
Sessions are on a weekly basis, at the same time/day each week. We will agree a suitable time and day for your session.
We can regularly review the sessions to ensure you are receiving what you need, at times a may offer you something which you do not feel is right for your needs, it is absolutely ok to say no when this happens.
My first session
The initial session is the chance for you to explain your situation, we may have discussed briefly in the telephone conversation, it's an opportunity to explore the therapy space and settle into the room. At this stage you have all the information about your current circumstances.
It's an opportunity for us to discuss our working agreement, as with any professional relationship there are boundaries and a contract, this ensures your safety, and we are both aware of our expectations.
The initial session allows us to ensure we are a good fit, that we can work together in person and feel comfortable in the space together.
