About me and my therapy practice
Sad? Overwhelmed? Hanging on by a thread? Feeling like who the world sees is not the true you? I can help by giving you a safe space to put down these burdens and explore them together using a trauma-informed approach. You don't have to do it alone.
Hi, my name is Sarah (she/her) and I am a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor offering face-to-face sessions in Swindon, as well as remote sessions (video or phone) UK wide.
I offer counselling through a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, working with you at your own pace to create a safe and supportive space. My focus is on building a genuine connection, so we can explore whatever comes up in a way that feels right for you. Therapy is about understanding your unique experience, not fitting it into predefined ideas of how it "should" be. I am here to listen, understand, and work alongside you as we navigate your journey together
I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, loss, relationships, and self-discovery. Additionally, I have further specific experience in supporting survivors of sexual violence and assault, as well as individuals in the perinatal period.
Practice description
I am warm, understanding, and compassionate, and my role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in connecting to your own truth and making the changes that feel right for you. You will always be in control, deciding what we focus on and how far we go. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard, seen, and valued, so you can get the most out of our work together.
I actively welcome feedback during our sessions and value working collaboratively to tailor the counselling experience to what works best for you. I will NOT be sitting there in silence the whole time or only asking "How does that make you feel?"
Sessions might involve taking short breaks, incorporating movement, using materials or objects to aid focus and exploration, or setting timed agendas for each session—whatever helps you make the most of our time together.
My first session
I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute consultation call (via video or phone) where you can ask any questions and see if we’re a good fit for each other.
If you decide to book a first session, we’ll go through a contract together, designed to make the process feel contained and safe for both of us.
It's completely normal to feel nervous or have lots of questions in the first session, and it's also okay if you’re unsure where to start. I’ll gently guide us through the process and we can begin exploring what the focus of our work might be.
By the end of the first session we will have a shared idea around areas you wish to focus on and can then make a plan of how to work with these. We will then discuss booking the next session.
What I can help with
