About me and my therapy practice
I work online. This means I work anywhere in the UK and have flexibility in my hours.
Depending on what you want to work on, I tailor the work to your needs, integrating a modern theoretical approach.
You can expect me to be respectful and curious, reflective and, with your permission, gently challenging at times using socratic questioning techniques.
Practice description
As an autistic woman, I understand what it is to be different. Living as an outlier in a neurotypical world can mean that stress, anxiety and depression are constant companions. If left unchecked, they can manifest into an inability to cope with day to day living and present itself as somatic (bodily) distress.
I have experience of working with Alexithymia and I understand how to work with the process of helping you to notice, name and manage your emotions safely within our therapeutic relationship.
I take interest in working with the autonomic nervous system. With your permission, we can use gentle techniques to soothe your nervous system in times of agitation or emotional numbness.
By building a therapeutic relationship, together we will work in depth to recognise triggers and maladaptive coping strategies. Bringing these into our awareness, we can start to make conscious decisions about how you would like your future to look.
My first session
Our first session is an held in the medium you choose, either videochat or telephone. You should find a comfortable and private space. If you choose videochat, your space does not need to be formal or even tidy.
This first free session will be for 60 minutes, the same as future sessions.
I do not charge you for our first session. I believe my ethical duty to you begins from our first encounter. When looking for a counsellor, you should be able to shop around for a good fit. I will not charge you to find out if we would be a good fit.
I will introduce myself and share with you how I work and the legalities around holding a confidential space.
After that I will invite you to share with me why you are seeking counselling. We can talk about our expectations for each other, and how you view the work.
In this way we are both able to get an idea of whether we can work effectively together.

I trained at Spurgeon's College in south east London and I am proud to be part of their alumni. I specialise in using Petruska Clarkson's Five Systemic Relationships as the framework to our therapeutic work.

Practice description
I understand what it is to feel like a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. Depression and anxiety can build to intolerable depths. But it doesn't have to stay that way. I offer you guided conversation to help you understand yourself and how you relate with others.
I am experienced in helping people evaluate, accept and thrive in their new reality.
