About me and my therapy practice
Hello - I am Zehra, a registered psychotherapist working in private practice. My approach to therapy is pluralistic/integrative where I tailor our work according to your therapeutic needs and goals.
I focus on developing a good relationship while offering a safe space through which we can explore your concerns, whether it is long-term or short-term therapy. Having lived and worked in both the West and East I am also able to draw on my rich dual-cultural experience taking into account issues of race, gender, politics, and cultural influence, for instance, and how they intersect with our mental health.
I also understand if you might be someone looking to learn strategies and tools to help with your anxiety and therefore a directive behavioural approach such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) might suit you best. Or if you are someone looking for a more exploratory approach where you can reflect on your life, relationships and the changes you want to make a humanistic approach such as existential or psychodynamic therapy might work well for you. You might also be interested in combining different approaches.
Please feel free to get in touch with me for a 20min free initial phone consultation where we can talk and discuss your therapy needs. I believe in fair and equal access to therapy and therefore offer a sliding scale payment option upon discussion ranging from £75 - £95 for individuals and £105 - £125 for couples.
Each session is 50mins long. I offer both online and in-person sessions on Gloucester Road, South Kensington.
