About me and my therapy practice
Welcome!
I'm Esther Dietrichsen-Farley, Person-Centred Counsellor, Psychotherapist (MÂ鶹Դ´, Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, 405143) and Founder of The Farley.
The Farley: Counselling & Psychotherapy for Stress, Burnout, Anxiety, Trauma & Life Transitions. In-Person Counselling in Southampton or Online Counselling UK wide.
The Farley is here to support adults experiencing:
Burnout & Work-Related Stress: Constant exhaustion, irritability, lack of motivation, and feeling overwhelmed by work or personal responsibilities.
Anxiety & Depression: Persistent worry, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, low mood, fatigue, and a sense of hopelessness.
Relationship & Communication Struggles: Frequent conflicts, feelings of disconnection, difficulty expressing emotions, and strained interactions with others.
Life Transitions: Uncertainty, indecision, emotional instability, and a sense of loss or confusion.
Trauma and Unresolved Emotions: Flashbacks, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, heightened anxiety, and difficulty processing past experiences.
The Farley is a small, serene private practice in Southampton, UK. Our office, nestled in a quiet green corner, offers a space to explore how your internal struggles impact your emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. You can also access therapy online (UK wide) or in a confidential location convenient to you, such as your workplace through tailored sessions.
At The Farley, therapy is more than just addressing symptoms — it’s about understanding your whole experience. We provide a safe, supportive space to explore the deeper influences shaping your emotions, behaviours, and beliefs, helping you move toward self-understanding and relief.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Practice description
What to expect:
The Person-Centred approach involves in-depth self-exploration of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions as they unfold. This can support psychological flexibility, foster self-compassion, and encourage meaningful shifts in how you navigate challenges.
Experience therapy that goes beyond surface solutions — where your whole story matters, not just your symptoms.
Each person’s experience is unique, but our approach provides a safe and supportive environment to explore what you need, in your own time.
