I offer in-person sessions at the child’s home. I believe that therapy should be as comfortable and convenient as possible for both the child and their family. Having sessions in a familiar environment allows children to feel more at ease, which can make a big difference in how they engage with the process and open up about their feelings. I hold sessions on weekdays after school.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome! My name is Charlotte, and I’m a therapist who’s passionate about helping children and their families with their mental health. I specialise in supporting primary school-aged children, and my approach is rooted in a deep understanding of childhood development and the important role early mental health support plays in shaping a child’s future.
I believe that every child is unique, and that their emotional and mental well-being is essential to their overall growth and success. This belief drives me to offer a warm, empathetic, and child-centred approach to therapy, creating an environment where children feel safe, understood, and empowered. By building trusting relationships with both children and their families, I’m able to help them navigate the challenges they face and guide them toward healthier, more positive ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving.
Over the years, I’ve built a reputation as a kind and approachable professional, one who genuinely cares about the well-being of each child and family I work with. My approach is rooted in a strong commitment to providing a compassionate and non-judgemental space where children can freely express their thoughts and emotions, while also helping their families better understand how to support and nurture their child's mental health needs.
I work primarily with primary school-aged children, offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Play Therapy. By using these evidence-based methods, I help children gain the skills and strategies they need to overcome challenges like anxiety, emotional regulation, and social difficulties. Whether it’s through direct conversation or creative play, I tailor each session to meet the child’s individual needs, ensuring that therapy feels engaging and accessible.
Practice description
One of the key aspects of my work is offering in-person sessions at the child’s home. I believe that therapy should be as comfortable and convenient as possible for both the child and their family. Having sessions in a familiar environment allows children to feel more at ease, which can make a big difference in how they engage with the process and open up about their feelings.
I work with a diverse range of presenting issues, supporting children with conditions such as Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), depression, bereavement, ADHD, ADD, autism, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and more. My approach is tailored to meet the specific needs of each child, helping them work through their challenges in a way that feels accessible and supportive. Whether addressing emotional difficulties, behavioural concerns, or neurodevelopmental conditions, I am committed to helping children build resilience and improve their mental well-being.
As well as working with the child I also work closely with parents and caregivers, offering guidance and support to help them better understand their child's needs and provide the right tools and strategies to foster emotional growth at home.
Ultimately, my goal is to make a positive and lasting impact on both children and their families by supporting mental health, promoting emotional well-being, and creating a foundation for a brighter, healthier future. It’s a privilege to be part of this important work, and I am honoured to support families in their journey toward stronger emotional resilience and overall happiness.
