About me and my therapy practice

I am a trauma informed therapist working with various issues ranging from  ADHD, anxiety, stress, worry, grief and loss, depression and relationship issues.

I have an advanced practitioner certificate and my core training is person centred. I am an eclectic therapist meaning I utilise aspects of other modalities tailor made to suit each individual. I help clients implement coping strategies to help with whatever is causing most distress.

Everyone has their own individual story, each unique in its own way. Our own experiences impact our view of the world and how we feel and communicate with others. It can impact our relationships and emotional resilience, leading to feelings of overwhelm, sadness, anxiety and depression.

Our childhood plays an important role in our development and shapes who we are today. Together we can unpack thoughts feelings and emotions that may be unconsciously causing  issues an an adult.

I offer a relaxed approach in my client work and building the relationship is a key part. With this in mind, I advise potential clients to shop around before embarking on therapy to ensure they feel comfortable with their therapist.

I have worked successfully with older teens  (young adults) through to the elderly.

I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate due to my role as a volunteer youth worker and XL mentor.

Practice description

I run my practice from Rayleigh, Westcliff and Southend-on-Sea. All the rooms have been specially designed for client comfort and safety, they have been designed to be tranquil, calming and ensure confidentiality.

I offer open ended sessions meaning you can access therapy as many times as you deem suitable. I do check in with clients on a regular basis to ensure they are getting what they need from therapy.

Initially, I encourage clients to attend sessions weekly for the first 6 weeks as this is key to getting the most out of therapy.

My first session

In our first session together, my aim is to tentatively explore what brings you to therapy and what expectations you may have of therapy and our time together. This session is a continuation of our initial phone call assessment and provides me with a valuable insight into you the client. I may ask you to complete a couple of forms in this session to gauge anxiety and depression levels, and explore support networks.

I can make reasonable adjustments for clients upon request.

We will also discuss frequency of sessions and explore any issues that may potentially hinder attending therapy. We can therefore explore other options that may be suitable.
