About me and my therapy practice

Hi there! I am Milo (they/them) a trans, nonbinary, queer counsellor working online.

In this current state of the world, it is important to have a safe space to bring all of yourself without worry of judgment or your safety. I want to provide this space for you in which we can explore together what life is like for you and any challenges you might be facing at the moment. I want to provide a space in which we can explore current and past experiences, emotions or any other difficulties.

Through my lived and professional experience, I appreciate the importance of working with a counsellor, who you don't have to educate on your identity. As individuals who are not the majority, it is crucial to have a space in which we know we are received and understood and don't have to fear being judged, debated or having to justify ourselves. We already have to do this in every day life. Counselling should not be another place in which those parts are not welcomed.

I have worked with a lot of trans, nonbinary or otherwise LGBTQ+ clients, kinky, enm/poly and neurodivergent clients.

Practice description

In my counselling practice I build strong, genuine connections with each of my clients and recognise the significance of different relationships in my clients lives.

I don't believe that one approach fits all and draw from different modalities to suit my clients needs. At the core of my work, I am person-centred, which means I aim to create a space in which you can share your thoughts and feelings openly, knowing you'll be met with respect, honesty and understanding. I believe you know yourself best and want to understand what life is like for you.

All of our sessions are led by you, this means you decide what we focus on. I believe trust is crucial when it comes to counseling, so I will always be real with you and bring up anything I might notice. I may challenge you at times but I do this in a gentle way and also welcome any challenges from you.

I have experience working with gender, sexuality and relationship-diverse (LGBTQ+, kink, enm/poly) clients, as well as neurodivergent individuals (autism, ADHD, bipolar, etc.). As a queer, trans nonbinary, neurodivergent person myself, I approach each client with openness, viewing differences as a natural part of who we are rather than something that needs to be "fixed".

Beyond these areas, I have also worked with a people facing anxiety, depression, relationship and family issues, workplace struggles, trauma, abuse and suicidal thoughts and a range of other concerns.

If you have any questions or would like to know more, feel free to reach out.

My first session

I offer an initial full 50-minute session at a reduced rate (£25). This usually gives us enough time for you to get a feel for how I work, ask any questions you might have and I can get an insight into what brings you to counselling.

I use zoom for my sessions. Before our first session (once we have agreed a time to meet) I will send you a link for our zoom meeting.

If you have any questions or you'd like to book in a first session, reach out and we can find a time that works for both of us.

I look forward to hearing from you.

About me and my therapy practice

I am Milo (they/them) and I'm a trans nonbinary, queer counsellor working online.

No matter why you are looking for counselling, I want to provide a safe space in which you can bring your whole self and ensure you feel heard, understood and supported. I believe counselling is a space for you to bring anything that feels important to you and explore whatever is making life challenging or uncertain at your own speed.

Having worked with LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, kinky and consensual non-monogamous clients, I appreciate the importance of having a counsellor who you don't have to educate on your identity and current developments within your community. My goal is to create a safe space for anyone regardless of gender, sexuality or relationships in which you can explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings, rather than having to explain your identities.

I view differences through an intersectional lens and understand that even though some experiences might look the same, we are all individual and unique. I strive to know what it is like to be you.

Counselling is a space for you to feel supported on a journey to understand yourself better and gain an understanding of past and current experiences and how they impact you.

Practice description

My approach to counselling is integrative and relational. This means I work on building strong, authentic connections with each client and understand the importance of relationships in my clients lives.

I rely primarily on person-centred theory with aspects of other theories, such as psychodynamic when appropriate. I want to provide a safe space in which my clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences without the fear of judgement.

Sessions with me are client-led, this means that you decide what you want to work through at your own pace. While I do offer challenge, I do this in a gentle way and welcome any challenge from you.

I have worked with a variety of GSRD (gender, sexuality and relationship diverse) and neurodivergent (autism, ADHD, bipolar, etc.) clients and am particularly interested in working with this community. I also have lived experience as a queer, trans nonbinary, neurodivergent person myself and offer a non-pathologizing and anti-oppressive approach, working constantly to understand my own unconscious biases and continuously educating myself.

I also have experience working with people who are experiencing or have experienced anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family difficulties, work issues, abuse, trauma, suicidal thoughts and other issues.

My first session

All our sessions are online. Before our session, I will send you a link to join the video call at our scheduled time.

I offer an initial session at a discounted rate (£25). This is a full 50-minute session in which we have a chance to get to know each other. You can get a feel for how I work, ask any questions you might have and I can find out more about what brings you to counselling.

I believe it is important for you to find someone who feels right for you.

If you have any questions or you'd like to book a first session, reach out and we can find a time that works for both of us.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
