About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Zoe and I'm a qualified integrative therapist offering both face-to-face and online sessions from London Fields in Hackney.
So let’s start with the issue. Perhaps you're coming to therapy feeling that something isn’t right, whether that something can be called anxiety or depression, or maybe it's difficult to even know the right words for what's feeling wrong.
You may have a clear reason for being here: to work through and find support for a loss, such as a bereavement, or a shocking event or betrayal. These experiences can be incredibly destabilising and may have undermined your sense of the world being a safe and familiar place.
You might find that you're struggling with particular feelings, such as anger, sadness or shame, or beliefs such as being unworthy, inadequate or "too needy."
Perhaps you suspect that you're avoiding much of life altogether? Relationships, opportunities and challenges pass you by, but some part of you is no longer content with this way of living and being.
Whatever brings you to therapy, we'll work together to help you understand yourself, how you show up relationally and work towards change.
Practice description
My approach is relational and collaborative. If you work with me, I will strive for you to feel deeply understood, respected and accepted, while gently challenged in a way that’s appropriate for you. Together we can gain awareness of what’s hurting and we’ll consider whether some of your pain and distress may have unconscious or historic origins.
I’m trauma-informed and trained to work to a blend of humanistic, existential and contemporary psychodynamic approaches, tailored to your way of being and your issues. I will be striving to help you discover and rediscover what is authentic to you and your lived experience, and that will involve tuning into body sensations as well as thoughts and feelings.
I am non-pathologising in my approach, and that includes my approach to gender, sex and relationships.
My first session
I offer a free optional 15-minute phone call which allows us to get a sense of each other and whether you think I am the right fit. As well as telling me about yourself, you can use this time to ask me questions about how I work and to see if the location and availability match what you need.
