About me and my therapy practice
I offer an exploratory space for adults, young people and couples who feel hopeless, helpless or at a loss. I provide warm and gentle therapy to anyone experiencing distress, from anxiety and depression, to trauma and abuse. I aim to hold you securely and buttress you strongly so that you can examine things that are frightening or that seem impossible to deal with.
I have particular clinical experience with bereavement and loss. My first career was as a competitive swimmer and so I particularly enjoy working with other athletes who are examining their relationship with their sport.
I practice as a person-centred counsellor. Our sessions can take the form of straightforward talking or we can use non-verbal mediums, such as drawing or painting, to explore your experience. I work in a trauma informed way and have experience working with traumatic bereavement. I am LGBTQIA+ allied and work affirmatively with explorations of gender and identity.
Practice description
I am based in South Birmingham where I provide face to face sessions in Bournville and Kings Heath. In Bournville I am situated at The Bournville Health Hub, almost adjacent to Bournville train station. In Kings Heath I work from York Road.
I also provide counselling online and in some cases it may be possible for me to travel to you.
My sessions are 50 minutes long.
