Therapy is not just a profession for me鈥攊t鈥檚 about creating a deeply human connection with each other. I believe in the power of being truly seen and accepted, and how transformative it can be to experience a relationship built on trust, respect, and care.

I offer you a unique space to explore how you relate to yourself and others, gently challenging old patterns while nurturing growth and healing.

We may think about practical ways to overcome current difficulties, or we may spend time looking at how past relationships and experiences impact you in the here and now.  Whether you鈥檙e navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or a sense of feeling 鈥渟tuck,鈥 I want you to have a sense of someone championing you and supporting you to find your own answers.

Practice description

I offer both psychotherapy and coaching, so that you can get the support that feels right for you.

In our psychotherapy sessions, we may think about how difficult experiences and relationships in your past create patterns in your life now.  We may gently challenge those patterns and support you in new ways of relating to yourself and others.  We may work with different feelings as they appear, creating space and equipping you with tools to take care of whatever arises.

Coaching is often more future oriented.  You may have a specific goal they want to achieve (e.g. to be more confident at work), and we will practice playful and creative ways to help you achieve this.  Coaching gives you accountability, as well as the opportunity to explore - and work through - your various blocks.

I work integratively, meaning that I pull from various different theoretical models, to create a therapy that is unique and specific to your needs.

I use a variety of talking therapy modalities, but I also pay attention to our sensory and somatic experiences.  I believe that we need to work with both the mind and the body in order to achieve our greatest growth.

In all my work, I am deeply relational: I believe good therapy gives us a model of healthy relationships, which we can then take out into our lives.

As a gay man myself, my practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, sex positive, and rooted in respect for diverse experiences and identities.  I aim to incorporate a rigorous awareness of power, privilege, and how social and political systems impact us into all my work.

I offer therapy both in-person and online to fit your lifestyle and commitments. Whether you鈥檙e taking your first steps into therapy or returning to deepen your personal growth, I鈥檓 here to provide a calm, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, supported, and celebrated for who you are.

My first session

Finding a therapy who you feel comfortable with is incredibly important.  For this reason, I offer a free 15 minute initial call, so that you can get a sense of me and how I work.

Our first session will be a full 50 minutes (as will be all subsequent sessions, unless otherwise agreed), and is charged at my full rate.  I will have some specific questions to help me understand what you are looking for and how best I can support you.  There will be a bit of admin, to talk about how we may work together and your rights to confidentiality.  But mostly there will be space for you to start sharing, and to experience someone rooting for you.

After our first session, you can make a decision about whether we feel like a good fit, and then we can move forward to finding you a weekly session slot and beginning our journey together.
