About me and my therapy practice
About My Practice
We all go through challenges in life, and I am here to help you overcome those difficulties. Whether you are facing trauma, loss, relationship struggles, or the impact of mental health challenges, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions and work toward growth and healing.
In addition to my role as a therapist, I am deeply committed to advocating for the safety and well-being of those affected by abuse. Through my work with SecureLife, I have helped individuals find safety and supported efforts to bring about meaningful change, including contributing to the development of laws and policies aimed at protecting those experiencing abuse. My advocacy has strengthened police responses and systems to ensure better protection for victims, which directly aligns with my therapeutic mission to empower and support those in need.
I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw on various therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each session. I also offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a structured approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns. CBT can be particularly effective for managing depression, anxiety, phobias, and other mental health challenges.
In addition to individual therapy, I also provide couple therapy for partners navigating difficult times, whether due to relational challenges or abuse.
I believe in the power of therapy to foster resilience, understanding, and growth. No matter how overwhelming life may feel, there is always the potential for change and healing.
With a background in counselling and psychotherapy, I bring experience and cultural sensitivity to my work, ensuring my approach is empathetic and supportive. If you are ready to take the first step on your journey toward a better future, I am here to help.
Practice description
My practice is located in a peaceful and welcoming centre in the heart of Birmingham city centre. The therapy room is thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable and confidential space to feel safe and supported during sessions.
The centre is conveniently situated close to major transport links, including Birmingham Moor Street Station and central bus routes, making it easily accessible by public transport or car.
I take great care to ensure that my clients feel at ease from the moment they arrive, offering a calming and supportive environment to help you on your journey toward healing and growth.
Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes for individual clients and 90 minutes for couples therapy. I offer both short-term therapies for focused goals and long-term, open-ended therapy for deeper exploration. My practice is inclusive and tailored to support individuals dealing with a wide range of issues, including:
Trauma and loss
depression/ Anxiety
Domestic abuse
Neurodiversity-related challenges
Severe mental health conditions such as psychosis and schizophrenia
My first session
I offer an initial 15-minute phone consultation free of charge. This allows us to discuss your needs and determine if we are a good fit to work together.
If we decide to proceed, the first session will be an assessment. During this session, I will get to know you, gather some essential information, and work with you to outline the goals for your therapy journey. This initial session sets the foundation for our work together, ensuring that your sessions are tailored to your specific needs and aspirations.
Please note that all sessions must be paid in advance to confirm your appointment.
