About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Bea, a warm and effective therapist for individuals and couples. I can help you to overcome issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and relationship problems, so that you can feel calm, confident and able to find greater joy in life.
You might be looking for help with a specific problem or struggling with a general sense of sadness or dissatisfaction, either way, my aim is that you have a place to freely explore your feelings, without fear of judgement, where you will feel seen, heard, and understood.
As a humanistic therapist I'm trained to use different approaches and tools based on your needs. Together we can work on developing coping strategies and finding new ways to move forward.
For individuals
• I work with a wide range of issues such as anxiety depression, loneliness, relationship or family problems, bereavement, and low self-confidence.
• My priority is for you to gain acceptance and understanding of yourself, enabling you to make the changes you want to see.
For couples
• I provide a safe environment to address issues within your relationship, develop healthy communication skills and find ways to resolve conflicts.
• I help couples who want to reconnect, rebuild trust and rediscover intimacy.
• For couples struggling to cope with external pressures like financial problems, work stress, parenthood, family issues or illness, we can work together to navigate these difficult moments or big life changes.
I offer a free 15 minute consultation, on the phone or online, where you can tell me what you're looking for and ask questions. If you want to move forward we can set up an initial session to meet.
I understand that the first step to seeking therapy can be hard, but I will do my best to make this as easy as possible for you.
Practice description
I believe in the importance of finding meaning and purpose in life and respecting every person's innate potential to change and grow. We are the experts in our own lives and I let clients lead the direction of therapy. I integrate Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Person Centred theory in this work.
As well as my private practice I work at a charity providing therapy for women who have experienced domestic abuse.
Prior to becoming a counsellor I worked in publishing for over 20 years across digital and print media. The experience of managing large teams gave me insight into how individuals interact and the patterns that emerge among groups. Throughout my publishing career I wrote many interviews and profiles of people, trying to understand the significance of their life stories, and this continues in my counselling work today.
My first session
This is how we might work together

I am happy to talk through questions and offer a free 15 minute call or zoom. If you want to proceed we can arrange a full session.
Step 2: Initial session
This first session gives you the chance to explain your situation and see how you feel in therapy. There is no pressure to start regular sessions beyond this point.
