About me and my therapy practice
A warm welcome.
I am an integrative-relational counsellor and place an emphasis on creating a warm, trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship. Your thoughts, feelings and experiences will be met with care, warmth and respect.
People seek counselling for many different reasons and that first step of reaching out takes courage.
My aim as a counsellor is to create a safe and supportive space where you can freely explore what has been troubling you. A space, that is yours, where you can gain a deeper self-awareness and feel empowered to develop new ways of being with yourself, others and the world. Where moments of laughter, sadness, anger and joy can all be part of the process.
I see personal growth and healing not to be a linear process but consisting of ups and downs with times of feeling like you’re taking two steps forward and three steps back. The journey may not be an easy one, but I’ll be there alongside you.
I work collaboratively, ensuring you have autonomy to decide what to explore, at a pace and depth that feels comfortable for you.
I hold a BA (Hons) degree in Integrative-Relational Counselling. This means I do not work in a singular way. It enables me to adjust my approach to best suit each person’s unique circumstances.
At the heart of my practice is the relational model, which emphasises the importance of the client-counsellor relationship as a foundation for meaningful growth and change to happen.
I have extensive experience supporting those who have experienced relational trauma. I work within an attachment-based framework that understands how early relationships form our sense of security and stability, influencing how we regulate our emotions and build interpersonal connections.
In addition to my private practice, I work as a counsellor within the NHS, supporting people of all ages, identities and backgrounds with a wide range of presenting issues.
Practice description
I work with adults (18+) and offer weekly face to face or online Zoom sessions, each lasting 60 minutes.
My practice is a minute walk from Worcester Park station, with bus routes connecting to Kingston upon Thames, New Malden, Cheam and Sutton.
I recognise how both past and present experiences can impact on your overall sense of well-being. My way of working values both your childhood experiences and your present ones.
In my practice, where helpful, I integrate creativity as a therapeutic intervention offering an alternate way to explore and process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This may include working with a sand tray, drawing or using postcards.
I am committed to continuing professional development to ensure that my knowledge and skills remain relevant and up to date.
My first session
I understand that beginning the process of counselling can feel daunting. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute call as an opportunity for you to ask any questions and help you to decide if what I offer matches what you need.
