About me and my therapy practice

Navigating life can be tough. It can often feel like steering through a stormy sea without a real sense of where you're going. By building a therapeutic relationship, we can work towards helping you to find your way…

Therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client. My role is to help you overcome an issue in your life that is causing psychological unrest. Resolution is achieved by providing a non-directive, non-judgmental, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings, free from external influence, to make autonomous decisions about changes you want to make, and to move forward.

I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I began my counselling voyage nine years ago gaining experience delivering group and one-to-one therapy to clients presenting a wide range of issues. I have worked for multiple organisations that provide counselling services within the local community delivering projects in partnership with the NHS, and National Lottery Community Fund, and also supplying Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) for private companies, and local councils including Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle Borough, Cheshire East, and Staffordshire County Council.

I am diagnosed with ADHD and have experience working with neurodiverse clients.

I work out of my private office in Newcastle-under-Lyme and can work with people on both short and long-term basis with adults of different ages and from various backgrounds.

My first session

Overall, the first session is a convenient way for you to decide if I am the right counsellor for you and that I offer what you are looking for (Working as a person-centred therapist, I practice within a non-directive framework which gives the therapeutic process flexibility to be delivered to suit how you would like to work).

The first session consists of a free 15-20-minute phone call, during which you can ask any questions that you may have about counselling and the counselling process. It is also an opportunity to discuss your motivation for seeking counselling, your expectations of what you would like to achieve, and how we can work together (Your goals and way of working can be reviewed at any time during the counselling process).
