About me and my therapy practice

Writer Pete Sanders said "counselling is for problems in living". You might be struggling with grief and loss; facing issues in your work, health or relationships; trying to overcome past events, or deciding about your future. I can support you.

I offer person-centred counselling, which is based on the belief that each of us has the natural tendency for self-discovery and direction. This means that you, and only you, can decide the meaning of your experiences and what you should do with your life. You could use words like 'learning', 'growth', 'healing' or 'creativity' to describe this process.

My role is to create an environment and a relationship that you can use to find your own direction. I will do this by:

  • listening carefully to understand your thoughts and feelings as fully as possible
  • accepting you as you are, and not telling you what you should do or how you should feel
  • being a genuine and trustworthy person, willing to be honest and open

I will not be in the role of 'expert', or direct you to any particular course of action. Instead we will be working and learning together. I hope that by feeling heard and accepted you will have the freedom to explore how you feel and discover what you would like to do.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and provide counselling at a local charity. I am completing a Diploma in Person-Centred Approaches to Death and Dying with the organisation Living Well Dying Well. I am a member of End of Life Doula UK and have supported people at the end of life with the Anne Robson Trust.

Whether you are familiar with counselling or have never considered it before, I would love to hear from you. More information, including my privacy policy is available on my website.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face counselling sessions in comfortable and discreet therapy rooms in the centre of Norwich.

My fee is £50 for a 60-minute session.

My first session

It's important to find a counsellor that you feel comfortable with. Our first session will be an opportunity for us to meet each other and for you to get a sense of whether I am the right person for you.

We can talk about what brings you to counselling and what your expectations are. You might have questions for me about counselling, and I might ask you some questions to make sure I can meet your needs. This session will be 60-minutes at my standard fee of £50.
