About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling in a difficult relationship, you’ve lost trust in your loved one or you don’t feel valued? Maybe you find yourself walking on eggshells, afraid to express your needs and emotions for fear of conflict or being dismissed. Perhaps difficulties in your personal life are causing immense distress, taking up all your energy just to keep going, leaving no space to think clearly.

I specialise in working with adults with relationship issues, anxiety and struggling with life transitions, issues with which I have professional experience and competence.

You may feel ready to talk but concerned about burdening others with your problems or embarrassed to share how you’re feeling with others. As a therapist I am here to help you.

How can therapy help?

My approach to therapy is relational, offering warmth, empathy and acceptance to build a trusting alliance, where I will listen and support you. Together we can explore the issues causing you distress and uncover your way forward.

Counselling can help you:

  • Gain a clearer mind and improved wellbeing by feeling calmer and no longer weighed down.
  • Build more fulfilling and harmonious connections by gaining a deeper understanding of your relationship patterns and making healthier choices.
  • Feel better understood, respected, and valued by improving how you express your needs, emotions, and boundaries - reducing misunderstandings and conflicts.

About Me

Alongside my IT career, over 28 years in the airline industry, I’ve navigated motherhood, divorce, parenting, a blended family, caring for loved ones with acute health conditions and loss, giving me deep insight into life's challenges.

Coming from a background where emotions weren’t openly discussed, I initially chose a logical, structured career. Over time, I found myself drawn to the human side of work - supporting people in complex situations. Now, as a therapist, I bring both real-world experience and deep empathy to my practice.

Practice description

My counselling approach

I am a Â鶹ԭ´´ registered integrative humanistic counsellor. I blend three counselling modalities called person-centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. My belief is that everyone is unique and has the potential for growth, self-understanding, and change when given the right support. My sessions provide a safe space to talk about your feelings, understand yourself better, and explore new ways to handle challenges. We’ll look at patterns in your relationships, focus on what you’re feeling in the moment, and find practical ways to help you grow and feel more in control.

Who do I work with?

I work with adults of all ages, from 18-year-olds through to those in their eighties and nineties, offering support through every stage of life. I have experience of counselling individuals of different nationalities, races, backgrounds, faiths, genders and sexualities. I acknowledge difference and respect our unique life experiences and viewpoints.

Additional experience

In addition to my private practice, I am a counsellor at a charity supporting adults with ongoing long term health conditions, disabilities, complex mental health needs and caring responsibilities. I am also an associate counsellor in a university setting, working with students and young adults (aged 18-25) navigating the pressures of growing independence, relationship and social difficulties, and anxiety and depression.

Session Frequency

When we start work together, we begin with regular weekly sessions, usually for at least six sessions. Thereafter we can work out the best way to work together, considering your needs and budget and my week-to-week availability, so that you have the right level of support. I offer short-term, long-term and open-ended therapy.

Travel to my rooms

Both my practice rooms are walking distance from South Ealing, Northfields and Ealing Broadway underground stations, and close to numerous bus routes. Paid for street parking is available.

My first session

The first step

I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone call when we can informally discuss your circumstances, your needs and aims for therapy and how we might work together. It's an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about counselling generally or my services.

The most important factor for effective therapy is the quality of the relationship between client and counsellor. It’s essential you find a counsellor with whom you feel safe and comfortable, and in whom you have confidence.

If you decide you would like to begin counselling with me, we'll agree when to meet for your first session and I'll send you a simple intake form to complete and my therapy agreement to review.

The first session

Our first session is a standard 50-minute counselling session where the format is slightly different to the others that will follow.

Initially we will take a few moments to establish the therapy agreement, and I can answer any questions you may have about the document.

Then we'll do an assessment together. This is a conversation to develop a shared understanding of your current circumstances, the issues you want to address in therapy and your goals. If you haven't had therapy before, we can talk about how we'll proceed and what to expect from then on.

What to do next?

Please get in touch to book a free, no obligation introductory call where we can assess whether we’d work well together.

I look forward to hearing from you.
