About me and my therapy practice
Brittany Diana Jackson
I am a accredited Therapist by the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapists. I have a BSc in Psychology, MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and a PGDip in Counselling Children and Young People.
Being a member of the Â鶹Դ´ means I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have professional indemnity insurance. I also have regular clinical supervision.
My main area of expertise is supporting children and young people, adults and parents who have experienced trauma. I have over 10 years experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, attachment, trauma, panic attacks, relationship problems, special educational needs, self-harm, eating disorders, fears and phobias and other areas.
I offer a safe place for you to explore your thoughts, behaviours and worries. I also am a free-lance therapist for KidsAid in Northamptonshire.
I use different modalities such as:
-Psychodynamic/Person Centred
-Play Therapy
-Creative Therapy
-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
-Attachment
The interventions I use, depend on the needs of you/your child. I aim to create a safe and non-judgemental space where you/your child can express yourself/themselves freely.
I also offer parent and child therapy for an additional cost and family therapy.
I also work for an Educational Psychology Service in London where I am experienced in the EHCP process and can provide advice and psychoeducation for parents and teachers. I often deliver training to parents and teachers on anxiety help, emotional based school avoidance and neurodiversity in the classroom.
Practice description
I currently offer online sessions for clients aged 14+ and face-to-face sessions for children aged 4+.
Online sessions are via Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp or FaceTime.
Face-to-face sessions will be held at the clients educational setting or my rented room in Northamptonshire.
I am dedicated to providing compassionate counselling services to children and young people. I also offer counselling to adults, joint parent sessions, parent and child therapy, couples and family therapy.
My first session
It is important you find the right therapist for you/your child.
I offer a complimentary 30 minute telephone consultation to ascertain if I am fit to meet you/your child's needs and answer any questions you may have.
If both parties are in agreement, a contract will sent and signed. When working with children, I will complete an assessment with the primary carer online, to identify the best way of working with the child.
I aim to arrange a consistent day and time for ongoing sessions moving forward.
