About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Kane and I am an Integrative psychotherapist working in-person and online. I have experience working with people from different cultural backgrounds, sexualities and gender identities.
I have had extensive training in integrative psychotherapy helping my clients to build their sense of self, confidence and encourage them to trust themselves and others. I have worked with clients who suffer anxiety, depression, stress, relational conflicts, living with neurodiversity, and exploring their identity (including sexuality/gender) addiction (substances, porn/sex) and their sense of belonging in the world.
My approach is holistic and relationally informed meaning that therapy is collaborative between you and I, taking into consideration your physical, emotional and social wellbeing. Together, we will explore your struggles with empathy and compassion with a non-judgmental mindset, while ensuring we go at a comfortable pace that feels safe. We will make sense of your issues, encouraging you to self-reflect, gain confidence, control and to grow and make positive steps to heal and change.
I draw techniques and resources from different modalities of psychotherapeutic practice so each session is individually tailored to you. These techniques provide the core of the therapeutic space allowing us to create a unique, and healing experience.
Approaches that inform my practice:
Humanistic
Psychodynamic
Attachment
GSRD Therapy
Relational
My experience thus far has been in the charity sector, working in general counselling services and LGBTQ+ counselling, which I specialise in.
I have also worked in a drugs and alcohol setting for 4 years, which included Chemsex support, offering 1-2-1 support to those on their path of discovery and recovery.
Beyond the therapy room, I have worked as a support worker within the chairty sector.
