About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m a qualified, integrative counsellor based in London. Seeking counselling can feel daunting. My aim is to put you at ease, connecting with compassion and meeting you where you are. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or simply want to understand yourself better, I’m here to help.
About my approach
My objective is to provide a space where you feel truly heard, respected and understood. I believe in the power of genuine connection and bring warmth and acceptance to our sessions to create a safe, supportive environment.
My counselling style is relational, meaning the therapeutic relationship itself is a key part of our work. As an integrative counsellor, I combine and adapt different therapies in whatever way best suits you. The three therapies I draw from are psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioural therapy and a person-centred approach.
While our work is collaborative, my priority is to respect your personal agency, supporting and empowering you to take the lead in your therapeutic journey. This allows you to develop greater self-awareness and clarity. Alongside this is a focus on building resilience and psychological flexibility, giving you tools to navigate life’s challenges.
As a Registered Member of the Â鶹Դ´, I uphold the highest ethical standards, ensuring my practice is safe, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential.
My background/training
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years in communications, with a key focus in social justice. Through understanding and connecting with people, I built meaningful relationships and communicated complex issues in ways that resonated. I gained insight into issues such as mental health discrimination, violence against women and girls, racism and inequality.
Building on my communications experience, I chose to study for a diploma in integrative counselling with a focus on diversity and intersectionality. This shaped my understanding of how our identities impact our experiences and relationships.
Practice description
I offer individual counselling sessions both online and face-to-face. Online sessions take place via Zoom from a calm, private, and professional office space, while in-person sessions are available on Wednesday mornings at Walthamstow Therapy. Sessions are held weekly for 50 minutes in a secure and confidential environment, providing a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions.
Whether you're looking for short-term support to navigate specific challenges or a deeper, longer-term therapeutic journey, I offer a flexible and tailored approach.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help us determine whether we are a good fit. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a sense of how I work.
In our first full session, we will explore what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from our work together. I will also carry out a brief assessment to help us focus our sessions in a way that best supports you. This is a space for you to share at your own pace, and there is no pressure to go into anything before you feel ready.
