About me and my therapy practice
Hello. My name is Rekha. I am an Integrative Counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MÂ鶹Դ´). I work in accordance with their ethical framework.
My therapeutic approach is primarily integrative, which means I draw on various modalities to best suit each client. These include Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and other approaches. I tailor my methods based on the specific needs of the client, emphasising a solution-focused and client-centred approach to ensure effective outcomes.
I have experience working with individuals dealing with a range of challenges, including depression, trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, and other mental health struggles. I have worked with clients who have experienced domestic violence, providing support in rebuilding their self-confidence, self-esteem, and sense of self-worth. Through our work together, many have been able to break free from the negative cycles of thought that often prevent them from seeing their value and experiencing positivity in life.
I have experience in teaching mindfulness techniques and Reiki healing methods to reduce stress and improve overall well-being. If the client prefers, I can integrate a holistic approach of mind, body and spirit healing using counselling and mindfulness.
I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy. I work alongside each client, helping them to explore their past experiences and understand how this shapes their present lives. Together, we identify areas they would like to change, and I support them in developing a personalised therapeutic plan. I guide them on their journey toward greater well-being. I work to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for you to explore and identify your difficulties at a pace that is comfortable to you. Whatever you are going through, we can work together to help you make sense of your experiences.
