About me and my therapy practice
My approach to humanistic counselling emphasises empathy and collaboration, helping you to heal, to explore, to uncover your strengths, enhance self-awareness, and make choices that reflect your true values. I tailor all approaches of my work to my individual client needs. I strive to offer flexibility where I can to help you access therapy.
My endeavour as a counsellor is to understand your experiences and help you take back control of your life so that you can move forward in your own time. While I can’t give you advice, I will provide a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I will listen and help you find your own way through. You know yourself best but sometimes we can get stuck along the way.
I practice using a blend of humanistic counselling approaches which I tailor to each individual client. The approaches I use are person-centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic and Short-term-solution-focussed brief therapy. For my work with young people I use a variety of different creative therapeutic interventions.

Practice description
I work in-person and online with adults, young people and children over 11 years. I offer short-term solution focussed brief therapy, short and long term therapy depending on requirements (and budgets).
I am a registered member of the Â鶹Դ´ and I work within their ethical framework. I have regular clinical supervision and engage in a wide range of continuous professional development to support my practice.
As well as private practice, I have experience of counselling in a state secondary school with 11-18 year olds. I also work within a university counselling service. I have 18 years of tutoring experience working 1:1 with neurodivergent young people and I am committed to offering a neurodivergent-affirming counselling practice.
My first session
I offer a free initial telephone appointment to discuss your needs and we can work out if we fit without any obligation. This usually lasts between 20-30 minutes.
If you decide you would like to work with me then during our first session we will explore the nuts and bolts of what counselling is and what you can expect from me and the service. I'll explain how I work and you can take it from there. Sessions last 50 minutes.
