About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor with a deep commitment to supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I have experience working with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief, interpersonal relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and trauma. I completed my work and training in South Africa and worked in variety of different sites with diverse population groups. I worked extensively with individuals who have experienced trauma, particularly due to abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault, and I understand the profound impact such experiences have on mental health and daily life. I provide a safe, non-judgemental, and compassionate space for my clients to explore their emotions and challenges to gain insight and work toward healing.
Practice description
My therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centred therapy; however, I integrate therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy, which I regularly drawn on in my practice. I understand that each client has their own needs, experiences, and goals, and I tailor my approach to suit your needs and work at a pace that is comfortable for you. My approach is centred on helping you recognize your strengths, build confidence, and regain a sense of control and agency in your life. I prioritise creating a space in which clients feel at ease, validated, and respected.
Our work together will be based on trust and mutual respect. I provide a warm, empathetic, and confidential space for you to express yourself freely without judgement and I encourage an open dialogue in which we can explore significant areas of your life to help you achieve clarity, personal growth, and resilience. Together, we will develop strategies to help you cope with stress and difficult emotions to build resilience and improve your mental well-being
