About me and my therapy practice

Hi I am Vicky, I am a compassionate down to earth person who came into the field of counselling later in life, my passion to understand and support people experiencing difficult times has led to years of experience in working with a variety of individuals. Allowing my values of respect and appreciation of human differences to develop, gaining the knowledge and skills required to offer support for people feeling distress from the experiences that life brings.

I strongly believe counselling has a capacity to heal and help people work through painful, traumatic and challenging life events. It’s a space to organise your thoughts and make better sense of the situation, a space where you can talk, engage and tell your story and gain deeper self-awareness.

I am a Person Centred counsellor working with adult’s age 25+, providing a compassionate, professional and ethical service in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Practice description

I work in person, online, telephone and home visits, offering a safe space to support a range of issues including

Addiction

Understanding the process of grief

Improving relationships with others

Improving self-esteem

Raising confidence

Coping with the everyday challenges of dementia

As a skilled listener, I can help you to understand the uncomfortable thoughts and emotions which you may feel a burden to share with family or friends.

My first session

Prior to the first session we will have a brief telephone or teams conversation. This usually lasts around 20 mins and is free of charge.

It is an opportunity for us to get a feel for what it might be like to work together. There is no obligation to continue after our initial meeting - the most important thing is that you feel comfortable with whichever therapist you choose.

You can talk about what has brought you to therapy and ask me any questions you might have about how I work and therapy in general.

I offer dicounted rate for daytime online appointments at £45 per hour.
