About me and my therapy practice
I work as an Integrative Counsellor based on Person-Centred theory.
I am available face to face, online or by phone.
I have experience working with adults and young people.
I'm qualified and registered with the Â鶹Դ´.
Having experienced much trauma throughout my life. Including domestic abuse, medical misdiagnosis, being bullied and childhood sexual abuse.
This has given me an understanding on how this can affect a person.
I use this experience to help my clients explore the issues they bring to the sessions and help them move forward. I offer a safe space with no judgement.
I also offer walk and talk as well as some creative methods, especially when working with young people.
This may help express difficult feelings.
Practice description
I work as an Integrative Counsellor based on Person-Centred theory.
I also use various tools from other theories, but always for the benefit of my clients.
I have also used simple arts and crafts to allow the client to feel at ease and to allow them to explore their deepest emotions.
I can offer walk and talk sessions using the beautiful countryside to allow you to relax and express yourself outside the confines of a building or computer screen.
I have worked with adults from the LGBTQ+ Community.
I have experience of working with issues around sexuality, work issues, domestic abuse, childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, medical misdiagnosis and many life issues.
I can offer online, telephone and face to face sessions, the first session with an assessment will be online or by phone.
I offer a set number of sessions or long term counselling and this can be discussed at the first session and can be altered to suit you the client.
I firmly believe in a client's autonomy and that by working together we can help you find ways to address issues you have brought to the sessions.
My first session
The first session will be more about getting to know each other and to see if we can work together.
We will also work through the assessment paperwork this can help you focus on what is important.
Having been in therapy for many years, I understand how daunting coming to a counsellor can be and how important it is to feel comfortable with your counsellor. Especially when dealing with difficult emotions and experiences in life.
I will also set out the boundaries within the counselling relationship.
This is an opportunity to discuss the number and frequency of sessions. That may be weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
I charge £30 for the first session.
