About me and my therapy practice
A child and young person’s world is a crowded place - peer groups, social media, academic and career pressure and developing brains can sometimes come together and make life challenging. If you or your child are struggling and need some help, time in a safe, non-judgmental space may provide some answers.
I am a counsellor and therapist specialising in children, teenagers and young adults. My role is to provide a confidential, calm and non-judgmental space where thoughts, feelings and worries can be shared.
I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship, feeling heard and seen in a safe space, and the human connection that comes from this, can help to build a child or teenager’s resilience and strong mental health foundations and practices as they enter their adult years.
As an integrative counsellor I tailor my approach to suit the individual, drawing on techniques and theories from various therapeutic models. Together we can find a way that suits you or your child.
Children and young people may find it daunting to talk about how their emotions, or may not even have the words to describe how they are feeling. Games, artistic materials and other creative resources are often helpful to make younger clients feel at ease and express what is going on for them in their lives. At the heart of how I work, is to build up a relationship with my clients so that they feel comfortable and safe and are able to explore their emotions in a safe and manageable environment.
