About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Â鶹Դ´ registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling from UCL Birkbeck. My practice is built around providing you with a safe and containing space in which you can be listened to carefully and without judgement.
Psychodynamic therapy usually involves working together over longer periods of time, building a strong therapeutic relationship so that we can carefully explore how your experiences have impacted your life, both consciously and unconsciously. I therefore generally offer open ended therapy, though I am also able to offer brief, time-limited therapy to address a current situation.
I work with clients from a variety of backgrounds, usually struggling with issues around self-esteem, relationships, and anxiety. I have extensive experince supporting people with anxiety and low mood and with clients working in highly pressurised workplaces. I offer sessions outside regular office hours (evenings, weekends and, when possible, early morning sessions) to fit in with busy workloads.
I am also experienced working with issues related to intimacy, sexuality and gender, with both LGBTQ+ and heterosexual clients, and have worked as an honorary therapist for an LBTQIA+ therapy service for several years. Additionally, I am particular experienced working with neurodiversity, and am able to tailor my approach, within the psychodynamic frame, to meet the needs of neurodiverse clients.
I adhere to the Â鶹Դ´ Code of Ethics and I maintain regular supervision to ensure that my work provides the highest quality of care. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
Practice description
Sometimes in life we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, aware of things which we want to change, yet caught in patterns of repetition and bouts of shame, frustration or self-loathing. Perhaps you have a clear sense of what causes you pain, such as relationship issues, bereavement, work-related stress, difficult or traumatic experiences in childhood or adult life. Or you may not know why you feel unfulfilled or low. You may have developed patterns which you feel powerless to change, such as avoiding intimacy, bingeing, restricting food intake, overworking, or engaging in patterns of addiction.
I realise that for some people taking the first steps towards seeking therapy can feel overwhelming. Whether you are new to therapy or not, I offer a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space in which you can begin to open up about your life and start to explore what may be going on for you, both at a conscious and unconscious level.

After this we would meet, either online or in-person for weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes.
