About me and my therapy practice

I am a specialist couples therapist and Visiting Clinician at world-leading Tavistock Relationships.

I am based in Sevenoaks, Kent and I have a private room and work online.

I have a Masters in Community Development and work at Tavistock Relationships, I have extensive experience working with evidence-based interventions to support parents and evaluating their impact on reducing parental conflict.

I work with a wide range of couples from different cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations. Every relationship is different, but here are some of the difficulties I work with: communication, repeating arguments, affairs, infertility, difficulties in trust, difficulties in different stages of life such as a first baby, bereavement, children leaving home or retirement and illness.

Practice description

I work psychodynamically, this means we will think about past experiences and patterns that might influence your relationship.

Relationships start out full of hope and expectation but can end up disappointing and being a source of dissatisfaction, resentment, and loneliness. Things can go wrong, and hurtful things can be said or done. The focus can often be on the other person and them being the source of the problem.

However, a couple is created together; both people have a part to play in what happens in a relationship. Couple therapy can help you explore how things are between you; it is a safe and non-judgmental space to think about how things might be different.

Therapy can improve a relationship by improving intimacy and communication. If you feel like your relationship has no future, therapy can help you work together on ending it.

My first session

The idea of starting therapy can be daunting, and it might make you feel anxious and worried, but lots of people feel better having met with a therapist to start talking about their difficulties.

Following a first contact by phone or email, we can arrange a time to meet for an initial consultation, which costs £120. This is an exploratory first session.

In this first meeting, you can describe what is causing you difficulty, and we can start to think about how you got there. If we agree there is a way forward for us to work together, we can arrange regular weekly sessions.

I charge £70 for individuals and £100 for couples.
