About me and my therapy practice
My name is Emma Morris. I welcome both those new to therapy and those seeking further support, offering a space where you can express yourself openly and feel genuinely heard.
In my practice, I utilise psychodynamic principles to help reveal the unconscious patterns that shape your behavior and relationships. Together, we’ll work to uncover the underlying issues that may be contributing to your current struggles, whether they manifest as anxiety, depression, or relational difficulties.
Psychodynamic therapy is based on the idea that by understanding the roots of your emotions and behaviors, you can gain profound insights and foster meaningful change. This process helps illuminate the connections between your past experiences and your present challenges, ultimately leading to greater self-awareness and healing.
Therapy can be incredibly beneficial, offering you a space to gain clarity and understanding about your emotions and behaviors. It can empower you to break free from unhelpful patterns and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. My goal is to support you through this process, helping you explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, confidential environment, while fostering greater understanding and resilience.
I am a fully qualified, Â鶹Դ´ registered therapist. I have experience working with clients with a range of issues, from anxiety, trauma, bereavement and depression.
Practice description
How I work:
I typically work with clients on a long-term basis, meeting weekly. While many people find they benefit from several months of therapy, the length of our work together is entirely your choice. If you prefer, we can also discuss focusing on a specific issue over a shorter period (6-12 weeks).
I offer an inital complimentary 15-minute phone conversation to discuss your needs and see how we might work together.
I then offer weekly, 50-minute sessions, giving us time to explore your concerns thoughtfully and in depth.
You can choose between in-person sessions at my practice in Islington, North London, or online therapy - whichever works best for you. However, if possible, I would recommend that we begin our sessions in-person.
My first session
Our first meeting is a chance to explore what brings you to therapy and discuss how we might work together. I'll ask about your background and current concerns, and you'll have the opportunity to ask any questions. If we both feel it's a good fit, we can arrange a regular weekly time that works for you.
