About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified relational psychotherapeutic counsellor (MÂ鶹ԭ´´), providing long and short term counselling to individuals, couples, and relationships. I will work with you to understand and reflect on how you relate to yourself, others, and the wider culture.

I offer a supportive and non-judgemental approach, whilst also providing you with healthy challenge and inviting a mutual exploration of our relationship. I often find that the dynamic between us can support you to gain insight into how you relate to others, and potentially provide a source for working through past traumas and relational issues, supporting you in your growth towards autonomy and increased awareness.

I am trained as a Transactional Analyst, which is an integrative approach that combines psychoanalytic theory with humanistic theory. Transactional Analysis is built on a strong belief that "I'm OK, You're OK", and offers powerful techniques that support you in understanding your behaviour, feelings and thoughts, whilst also offering a tool for supporting relational growth with others.

Practice description

Everyone’s story is unique, and so is the process of healing and growth. I provide a safe and confidential environment, where we can work together to explore how you relate to yourself and others. Whether you are feeling depressed or anxious, struggling with low self-esteem, are experiencing relationship issues, would like to work through past trauma or bereavement, or have a desire to understand yourself more fully, I will work collaboratively with you to find a path that suits you.

If you are seeking relationship counselling, I will support you in understanding ingrained dynamics, helping you to communicate with and understand each other better. Whether you’re experiencing conflict, navigating transitions, or simply seeking to strengthen your bond, I will act as an impartial third in offering understanding and challenge to you both. My approach to relationship counselling is rooted in creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can both openly explore your concerns and differences, communicate more effectively, and work toward greater understanding and connection.

My first session

Our first session will be a mutual exploration of your current feelings and goals for therapy. The therapeutic relationship is a key factor in determining the success of your therapy, and it is therefore important that we both feel we are the right fit for working together. The first session gives you an opportunity to see if I am the right therapist for you. Should we agree to work together, we will have a review at 4 weeks to agree on our continued work together.
