About me and my therapy practice

What makes you feel seen and heard?

You might be going through a difficult time, struggling with relationships or having trouble managing your feelings, expectations or life circumstances. We all experience painful moments or uncertainty - it is part of being human. Most of us would benefit from having some time to sit and talk to someone about what we need, without judgment.

I offer a confidential space of warmth and empathy in which I will listen and encourage you explore your needs, challenges and circumstances. Together we'll work towards gaining a better, deeper understanding of yourself, your patterns of behaviour and how they affect your relationships with others.

Perhaps it is anxiety, difficult feelings, grief, childhood trauma, family dynamics...there are many things that can affect us.

Please get in touch with me if what I'm offering feels right to you.

We'll arrange an initial phone call to find out why you're thinking about coming to therapy and talk about what you're looking for in a therapist. The phone call is not a commitment, it is to help us get an idea of if we would work well together.

Going to therapy can bring up painful experiences and feelings as we work through life's difficulties. It is not always something that makes us feel better or happy at the end of each session. Giving yourself the time and space to address your challenges is an incredibly brave step to take. My hope is that overall you'll feel it is a beneficial experience to work with me on what you need.

Practice description

I work online and in person in North London, it is up to you how we meet.

Our sessions will be weekly and 50 minutes long. I offer open ended work so there's no set time limit on how long our therapeutic relationship will last. As part of our process we will set up occasional reviews of the work to ensure you are benefitting from our time together. I charge £75 per session.

I work largely psychodynamically and draw on Transactional Analysis to support my work. My approach is to hold a space for you with warmth, care, respect and openness. I aim to provide an honest reflection of what you bring, in the hope that it helps you to unpack and look at what you need.

I'm interested in how your past experiences are impacting your present and possibly your future life. I believe everyone has the capacity to grow and change, if we can give ourselves the time and space to do so. I consider it a privilege to listen to your experiences, encourage your self discovery and bear witness to your potential growth.

My first session

In our first session we'll look at a contract for work and begin to get to know each other. Therapy isn't a magic solution or quick fix, so first sessions can feel a bit different to what we imagine. It's an opportunity to decide if working with me is the right choice for you once we've spent some time and focus on you. Future sessions won't have the same amount of admin in them, however we can always revisit the contract if you have any questions and need to refer back to it.

We'll review where we are after a few sessions to make sure the process is working for you.

As with all my sessions, the first one is 50 minutes long and my fee is £75.
