Availability
I currently have availability on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during the day. I have some early evening availability too for those who can't come in the day.
I offer lower cost sessions at £30 for students and people on low wage. Please talk to me if you would like the option of lower cost sessions.
About me and my therapy practice
As a therapist, I work in a person-centred way.
This means that I use the base of providing empathy and acceptance in my sessions creating a space that feels safe, enabling clients to share their private thoughts, feelings and experiences.
I treat each client as the unique individual they are, listen to them and foster a secure relationship that works toward meeting the needs of each particular person. I want you to feel safe and be able to trust me, as someone who is there to help you, through some of the most difficult parts of your life.
Practice description
As every client is unique, the therapeutic relationship and work will vary too. I approach each session with a base of non-judgement and empathy, and allow you as the client, full control over what you would like to address. I hope that by providing these supportive conditions it will help us to develop trust and help you to feel more comfortable sharing and working with me.
We will work together, either in a more focused short-term way or as a more exploratory longer-term relationship, on whatever has brought you to therapy. Whether this is to process past events, looking for ways to cope with current feeling or situations, or building towards a brighter future. I will be there with you on this journey.
I offer sessions either in my therapy space near Bakewell, outside as walking therapy in the Peak District National Park or as online sessions.
My first session
I offer an initial meeting, usually online, free of charge. This is to talk through what has brought you to seek therapy and if you have any aims for our work together.
It will give you the chance to meet me and decide whether you feel I am someone you want to work with. In therapy, its very important that you feel comfortable and feel I am someone you may be able to trust. Therefore, I will be happy to answer any questions you have and talk through your expectations to see if I feel I can meet them. After this session it is entirely up to you if you would like to continue to starting paid sessions with me.
If you do decide to work with me, going forward, we will discuss and decide a time and frequency of sessions that works for you.
