About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor here to offer you a safe, confidential space to talk, explore, and heal.
Are you feeling low, worried, or hopeless? Perhaps you are facing significant life changes or ongoing stress that keeps you up at night and may affect your self-esteem, relationships, work, and other aspects of your life.
I work with adults who struggle with challenges like stress, emotional instability, burnout, and depression. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and non-judgemental acceptance of you as a unique individual.
I firmly believe that each of us has the ability to discover their own unique path to overcoming life's challenges. Together, we will tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs, explore your relationship with yourself, help you gain new insights, and develop strategies to manage your challenges. Increasing your self-awareness will empower you to recognise your choices and make positive life changes.
I particularly specialise in trauma, stress & anxiety, and living with ADHD.
Practice description
Trauma therapy
If you think that you may be experiencing early trauma or PTSD symptoms, we will explore various aspects of your personal history to identify potential triggers that could be contributing to your current challenges. Recognising the depth of your distress and any emotions you may have repressed in the past, we will proceed cautiously and at a pace that allows you to confront and work through these feelings effectively before advancing to the next stage of exploration.
Living with ADHD
Getting an ADHD diagnosis as an adult can be challenging. You might experience a shift in your self-perception, causing confusion or doubt about your capabilities and past behaviours. Or you may struggle with the stigma associated with ADHD, leading to feelings of shame or embarrassment. Your usual coping mechanisms may be questioned, disrupting your life, and you may require support during a period of adjustment to develop more effective strategies for self-management.
I am here to support you in navigating these challenges and exploring your personal experiences, thoughts, and feelings. With the right support, a clinical diagnosis can eventually provide validation, explain past difficulties, and offer clarity and a framework for better self-understanding.
Working with a clinical diagnosis
During my work in the NHS and other mental health organisations, I have had the opportunity to support individuals facing a wide range of mental health issues such as major depression, Bipolar disorder and BPD. I have gained a deep understanding of the intricate challenges and obstacles that people face when living with such conditions and I aim to integrate each client's unique experiences into our work and ensure that they feel heard and supported.
My first session
I have integrated various techniques from several schools of humanistic psychotherapy to support you in exploring your relationship with yourself and others, and to help identify the underlying causes of your current challenges. The strategies I offer are targeted to your specific needs.
In our first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy and develop a plan for your healing journey.
