About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome! I am a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in Glasgow. I work with children, young people and adults and am a registered member of Â鶹Դ´.
As an integrative practitioner I use theories and techniques from different counselling modalities including person centred, psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This means that I can adapt my style to find what works for you.
I have experience in supporting people with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, addiction, self-harm, work/school stress, relationship issues and domestic abuse.
Life can be challenging and it can help to have someone outwith your normal circles to talk with to work through life's complexities. You might know exactly why you want to attend counselling, be that low mood, anxiety, trauma struggles associated with neurodiversity or grief, or you may not know why, but something just doesn't feel right or you feel a bit stuck. Whatever it is, I will always meet you with curiosity rather than judgement, offering a safe space to offload, process and explore your feelings and experiences.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, it can make you feel vulnerable to talk about personal experiences. You might have fear over what you may uncover. I always work in a considerate way in order to keep you feeling safe and unjudged- we go at your pace. 'Nobody leaves childhood unscathed', we all carry beliefs about ourselves that impact our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I believe when we allow ourselves the chance to understand these we can improve our own wellbeing, relationships and general health.
Practice description
I work in a truly collaborative way, where we work through any problems you have together and develop practical strategies to move on in life in a way that feels right for you.
With younger clients, I work creatively using engaging, age-appropriate strategies that empower them to express themselves and promote healthy coping mechanisms.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute initial phone call where we can chat about your goals for counselling and determine if I am the right counsellor for you. I work online via zoom or google meet and can arrange in-person sessions in both the city centre and Glasgow southside. I am an inclusive practitioner who welcomes diversity.
