About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor with many years of professional and personal experience that will enable me to support you through your most difficult experiences.
I understand how painful and challenging life can feel. At times life can be overwhelming and things like grief, divorce, anxiety, and depression, to name a few, can impact on your mood, relationships, work and your health.
I can offer you a safe place to talk about how you feel and will help you to find a way through. It may take weeks, it may take months, but through our sessions, you will understand so much more about yourself and will have a clearer way forward. Counselling can make all the difference and can provide real relief, with whatever you find yourself dealing with right now.
My role is to listen and support you, but if you wish to have some tools and strategies to go forward with, we can work on those together.
A bit about me:
My working life has been spent supporting people from many walks of life. I have worked with homeless people and ex offenders for 20 years which has taught me a lot about how to help people with mental health struggles, addiction and offending behaviours as well as the trauma that is often at the core of these issues.
More recently I have managed an ADHD/autism support service for families. I have a special interest in supporting neurodivergent clients.
I am also passionate about supporting women through peri-menopause and mid life changes. This is a time of life that many women (and men) find especially challenging.
Words from a client I supported last year:
"For the first time, I felt truly listened to without any judgement. This new perspective has enabled me to understand the challenges my daughter is facing, which has in practice alleviated a great deal of stress at home and improved our relationship. I am incredibly grateful for the insights gained during these sessions and would wholeheartedly recommend this support to others"

Practice description
- I offer face to face sessions in a cosy room located in Chelgate house on Rochester High Street opposite the disabled car park. I have availability on Thursdays.
- I also offer phone and online counselling during the rest of the week.
- I work with clients in the way they wish to be worked with. Some clients just want to talk for the full session, and others want me to ask questions and encourage reflection.
- I am intuitive with my clients and my aim is that you feel safe, heard, validated and supported during our sessions.
- Sometimes I use creative methods and other times I may bring in some cognitive behavioural therapy (which is about thought patterns) or relaxation/meditation techniques that can be helpful, but its your choice entirely.
Here is another testimonial from a client
"I believe that Noeleen played a massive part in bringing me back to life from such a dark place. She's a great listener and extremely caring. Since seeing Noeleen, I have come a long way to achieving my goals and seeking help to improve my life. It's been a pleasure to have met such a great person that I could trust to share my life's problems and I'm very grateful.

My first session
I offer a free introductory phone call before the first session so you can get a sense of who I am and how we could work together. If you would like a call please let me know.
At our first session it's really important to me that you feel comfortable and able to share how you feel.
We will talk about some important things such as confidentiality and your goals at the start of the first session.
