About me and my therapy practice
I strongly believe we all have the ability within us to get through difficult times and reach our full potential.
However I also believe we often need help to do that, and that's okay. That's where a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship is paramount. My aim is to give you a safe space and help you to be able to navigate any difficulties you may currently be having.
It's collaborative, and it would be such an honour to help you. It's not easy trusting a stranger with the difficulties that are closest to your heart, but if you trust me with that privilege I will endeavour to support you to the best of my ability.
Practice description
As a newly qualified therapist with a Master's in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling (Level 7), I am passionate about supporting individuals through their unique mental health journeys. With four years of experience in mental health and specialized training in CBT-led interventions, eating disorders, anxiety and depression, and personality throughout the lifespan, I am well-equipped to address a range of issues including anxiety, depression, attachment difficulties, identity issues, grief and loss, relationships, trauma, and self-esteem.
My approach is person-centred at its core, with a strong emphasis on integrating techniques from CBT, DBT, transactional analysis, psychodynamic theories, humanistic therapy, and more. The most important approach to me is tailoring therapy to each client's individual and unique needs, ensuring that the therapeutic process is always aligned with what is best for them.
My first session
Before booking a session I always offer a free no-obligation telephone call to discuss any questions you may have about the counselling process, the type of therapy I offer and the type of support you are looking for. This is really important as it's an opportunity for us both to figure out whether working together would be the best fit for you.
Deciding to seek therapy can be a really daunting and scary (and brave!) step- hopefully this casual chat can help ease some anxieties. Feeling comfortable is such an important basis for effective counselling work.
