About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic techniques in my work, including from cognitive-behavioural, body-based and psychodynamic modalities. My approach is warm and, above all else, human – I believe the rapport built between a therapist and client is one of the most important ingredients for successful therapy, and forming genuine connection that can facilitate growth and healing is why I do the work that I do.
Finding the courage to acknowledge you’re struggling can be one of the hardest parts of asking for help, but you’ve already taken the biggest step by seeking support. I look forward to walking alongside you from here.
Practice description
I see therapy as a collaborative process; one where we work together to explore what you might need, and what might help. I draw on a range of therapeutic tools and resources depending on the focus of our work, and I have particular experience supporting clients around nervous system regulation, trauma, neurodiversity, and grief. I believe that no issue is too complex to work through in therapy, and I have also worked with clients on a wide range of other issues including depression, anxiety, relationships, identity, and life transitions.
Fascinated by the mind-body connection, I’m currently training as a yoga teacher and often bring somatic approaches into the therapy room – whether through breathwork, mindfulness, or grounding practices. My background as a journalist also informs my interest in narrative therapy, and I often invite clients to explore their own stories through reflective writing or journaling.
My first session
I offer a free 15-20 minute introductory consultation; a time in which you can ask any questions you may have, and we can explore your specific goals and whether we feel like the right fit for each other. From there, we can discuss whether short, time-restricted therapy or longer, open-ended therapy might be the best option for you.
