About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Tayler, and I am an integrative therapeutic counsellor, meaning that I work using a combination of Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural and Person-Centred Therapy.

Therapy is not a one size fits all approach, so I think it is important to recognise that every client is unique and working in this Integrative approach I am able to tailor and adapt my way of work to try and meet each clients needs.

As a member of the Â鶹ԭ´´, I abide by their ethical framework and approach all counselling work with the fundamental aspects of compassion, support, curiosity and empathy. It is important that counselling is approached as a collaborative process where clients have a space to explore emotions, thoughts, their personal history or their current life and have a space to process their response to navigate in a way that best suits them.

I have spent almost the past two years working as a counsellor in a secondary school, working with children and teens from 11-18 as well as staff members including teachers and support staff.

Being in such a mixed environment has meant I have had the opportunity to work with Anxiety, Depression, Self-Harm, Domestic Abuse and Violence, Loss and Bereavement, ADD and ADHD, Autism Spectrum and Neurodiversity, Relationships, Sexual Identity, and Trauma.

Everyone deserves a space where they can feel accepted and understood, where they are able to explore their thoughts feelings and experiences while being met in a warm compassionate and non-judgemental way, being able to build upon your self-esteem, resilience and self-awareness.

Practice description

Working online currently offers the flexibly to enable clients to access support that suits their schedules and needs. I offer counselling through Zoom or other online video chat services, whilst I will be working in a private and confidential space. I aim to offer you an environment in which you feel comfortable to discuss and explore, what it is you need to in a way that best suits you.

Counselling work can provide a space to reflect and grow as a person and it is my aim to help you to do this in whichever way you need to, whether that’s through talking therapy, worksheets, skills development or creative working and tool focused sessions.

My first session

I offer an initial short phone consultation to establish if you feel that we may be a good fit to work together. We will talk about what it is you might like to explore in counselling and arrange an introduction session.

Introduction sessions/ assessments are offered at a reduced rate where we will cover any counselling agreements to ensure that we both understand the arrangements and boundaries of the sessions, your aims and expectations for the work, as well as fees, policies and aim to answer any questions you might have.

Each session last for approx. 50 minutes, longer sessions are offered when working with couples. We will regularly review our work together and make sure that you are getting what you are looking for from our time together.

Short term therapy is offered in 6 or 8 sessions whereas longer term therapy can be offered up to 24 sessions. Both short and long term have the option to extend or shorten as required.
