About me and my therapy practice
My name is Ana Bakic, and I am a qualified Psychologist and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with over ten years of experience in clinical practice. I am deeply committed to helping individuals find their way through life's challenges alongside examining the complexities of their inner worlds.
I integrate psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy with contemporary approaches to provide individualised, in-depth therapeutic support. Where appropriate, I incorporate evidence-based methods while drawing on psychoanalytic theory to bring underlying emotional processes into awareness. My approach is guided by each client's unique needs and goals, and I tailor the therapy accordingly.
I hold a BSc in Psychology (Belgrade, Serbia) and a Master’s in Psychoanalytic Studies from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust in London. Prior to psychology, I studied Classics, which continues to inform my interest in meaning-making and human experience. I am currently training at the Anna Freud Centre as a Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) practitioner, incorporating a more structured and focused approach into my work.
My practice is based in Greenwich and Central London (Bloomsbury and Bank). I am fully insured and DBS-checked, and I adhere to the highest standards of ethical and professional care.
My first session
The initial session is a space for us to begin exploring what brings you to therapy and discuss how this therapy might benefit you. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. If you are unsure where to start, that's absolutely fine - part of our work is to explore this together.
We will talk through your current concerns, your hopes for therapy, and how we might work together going forward. If we agree to continue, we will discuss session frequency and the therapeutic process in more detail.
What I can help with
Abuse, Addictions, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Cultural issues, Depression, Development coaching, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Leadership coaching, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Mood disorder, Personal development, Pregnancy related issues, Relationships, Self-harm, Sexual identity, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Women's issues
