About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist working with adults and adolescents to meet their unique therapeutic goals and facilitate genuine progress. I see therapy as a collaborative, thought-provoking and perspective-shifting process that is ultimately meant to cultivate healthier emotional connections to yourself and to others.
I aim to help you identify and understand feelings, thoughts and emotions that may be preventing you from leading the life you envision. Within a contained, collaborative and creative space, we will explore your present experiences and consider how your past has shaped you, as well as identifying unhealthy patterns that may perpetuate current symptoms and behaviours. We work to resuscitate your inner resources and formulate more helpful and sustainable coping strategies.
From a position of greater self-awareness, you are more able to instigate meaningful and lasting acceptance and change, creating a clarity that enables better informed decision-making aligned with your values. This clarity also opens up the possibility of healthier emotional and physical connections to your authentic Self, both body and mind, and towards those you love, allowing you to move forward with a greater sense of inner freedom, self-belief and hope.
I am committed to offering a space where all individuals feel safe, supported and understood. My approach is therefore inclusive and affirming of all races, ethnicities, religions, neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ identities.
In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, playing tennis, watching musical theatre and opera, and walking my dogs.
Practice description
I am a trauma- and neuro-informed psychotherapist and have experience working with adults and adolescents using an integrative model. This means I draw from a plethora of evidence-based methods, and where relevant incorporate findings from neuroscience research which can enhance the therapeutic process. This approach allows me to address multiple issues and take into consideration the interconnectedness of your psychological, social, physical and spiritual dimensions. It also ensures ongoing relevance by allowing adjustments to the therapeutic plan as you progress through therapy. Interventions often utilised include but are not limited to: Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Attachment, Creative and Acceptance & Commitment therapies.
My experience working in diverse clinical settings - low-cost agencies, a psychiatric hospital and schools - encompasses an age span of 12 – 90 years. This extensive training and diverse experience enables me to work with a wide range of clientele and ensures you will always be in safe hands.
In terms of qualifications, I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and Neuroscience from King’s College London and am pursuing a PhD in Psychology. Additionally, I am certified in complex trauma, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and have a Level 3 Certificate with Place2Be in Child Counselling and an enhanced DBS. I have completed numerous continuing professional development courses to keep up-to-date with the latest developments, perspectives and resources in the field of psychology. I have also earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from London Business School and worked in the corporate world prior to my career in psychotherapy.
I have founded my private practice, The Connectry, to provide high-quality, customised care with a focus on meeting your unique therapeutic goals and facilitating genuine progress.
