About me and my therapy practice

Are you wanting for 2025 to bring a change in your life or to find ways to live with something you can't change? Contact me to see how counselling can help.

I will listen to your story and work with you in a supportive and structured way to help you to make sense of what is causing you to feel stressed, anxious or worried.

I am a qualified counsellor with over 20 years experience-  working within a hospice and the community in Birmingham and South Staffs and for a national bereavement organisation.

I have been accredited with Â鶹ԭ´´ since 2013 and have a background in nursing.

I am experienced in working with:

impacts of ill-health, disability and treatments;   carers;   ongoing support and self-care;  caring professions;   anticipatory grief (for patient or carer);  bereavement including sudden death, suicide;   progressive neurological conditions;   relationships;   pressures on family life;   spirituality

I bring my experience and a calm space for you; I believe that the experience of counselling can be life-changing and that however difficult your situation, counselling can help you to find a way forward.

Practice description

I work in a person-centred way, placing our relationship firmly at centre and working at your pace. I also use solution-focused therapy; building on from what works for you, in order to help you achieve your goals.

I offer sessions at your home, within Lichfield and area and also online and phone. You may choose to have a mix of home and online/phone sessions, dependent on your circumstance. If your preference is to be at home then we can make a therapeutic space there for your counselling sessions.

I also offer online sessions, using 'Zoom' (an online video) or by phone if you prefer. I work from the privacy and peace of a room in my courtyard garden.

Sessions are 60 minutes, weekly or fortnightly; we will decide the number of sessions together. It can be helpful for some clients to move to less frequent sessions until our planned ending.

It can also be helpful for busy carers and for clients who are unwell to have a mix of shorter 30 minute if this is beneficial; we can discuss this within your counselling to best ensure that the therapy meets your needs.

I welcome previous clients to return for 'top-up' session/s subject to my availability. This can be helpful for ongoing self-care within a trusting relationship.

My first session

After receiving your enquiry we can arrange a free initial appointment of up to 30 minutes to see if we are a good 'fit' for each other and for me to answer any questions you may have.
