About me and my therapy practice
Face-to-face Psychotherapy & Counselling in Manchester City Centre
Deciding to start therapy is an important step, whether you’re facing ongoing challenges or something more recent.
At Therapy in Manchester, I’ve been providing in-person psychotherapy and counselling for adults since 2011.
I offer both short- and long-term therapy from our practice by St Ann’s Square.
About me
I am a qualified and experienced therapist, trained in Transactional Analysis Counselling and the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of Freud and Lacan.
I established Therapy in Manchester in 2011, building on my experience as a counsellor for a leading private healthcare provider and as a therapist for a North West charity.
I play an active role in the region’s professional network, having served
• as Chair of the North West Regional Psychotherapy Association (nwrpa.org.uk)
• on the editorial board for the peer-reviewed Transactional Analysis Journal (TAJ)
Before becoming a therapist, I enjoyed a successful 20-year career in the visual arts.
During this time, I held senior roles at UK universities, authored books, and curated exhibitions, including retrospectives of work by artists David Hockney and Peter Greenaway.

Easy to Access In-person Therapy Appointments
Starting psychotherapy or counselling is a different experience for everyone. While individual reactions vary, everything discussed is treated in confidence.
The first appointment begins with a brief introduction to how our service operates, including a discussion of confidentiality.
The session then focuses on hearing what brings you to therapy.
As we talk, a clearer picture may emerge of what brings you to therapy, and you might uncover other concerns you hadn’t previously considered.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a better understanding of what therapy involves and how it can support you.
If you have any questions about making your face-to-face appointment, just message or call
