About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Â鶹ԭ´´ accredited & registered psychotherapist with 12 years of clinical experience. My expertise is working with anxiety, trauma & High Sensitivity (HSP). I have also helped clients work through a wide range of other issues such as, bereavement, low self-esteem, depression, self-harm, life transitions, stress & attachment issues.

I have a Masters in Counselling & a Post-Graduate Diploma, from the University of East Anglia (UEA), in Person Centred Counselling. My Masters researched childhood trauma & the effects on attachment & the developing child's brain which is why my counselling approach is Trauma Informed & draws upon attachment theory & neuroscience.

I offer a safe, confidential & relaxed space for you to explore the difficulties you are experiencing whilst feeling supported, accepted & understood.

My aim is to help you gain insights into your feelings, behaviours, thoughts, beliefs & choices to bring about self-awareness, understanding & acceptance which will in turn build your emotional resilience, self-confidence & self-reliance.

As a person-centred therapist I will focus on your needs therefore, I will encourage you to bring the issue/s you wish to explore to the  session. I won’t tell you what you should do but will instead support & empower you to discover your own abilities & internal resources within so that you can cope with current & future problems.

Where appropriate, I may offer practical strategies to help you manage any physical & mental symptoms of your distress.

From 2012 - 2020 I worked as a counsellor for a well-known local young persons mental health charity & as a volunteer counsellor for a local charity that supports survivors of sexual, emotional & physical abuse.

Practice description

I offer in person individual counselling sessions.

I work with adults (18yrs+) from a private & tranquil purpose-built counselling room on the outskirts of Norwich (NR6) with ample free parking. I offer a discounted, (£45.00) 1 hour assessment session to provide an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work & to decide if I am the right counsellor for you.

My first session

In the first assessment session, we will meet to discuss what brings you to therapy & address any questions or concerns you might have. The initial assessment session is also an opportunity to see if we are a good match therapeutically & for you to get a sense of how I work & to decide if I am the right counsellor for you. If you decide to continue, we can then arrange a regular time & day of the week that works for you. The assessment session lasts for approximately 1 hour & is £45.00.

Individual, face to face (in person) therapy is £50.00 for 1 hour.

Please feel free to contact me to find out more or ask any questions.

I can be contacted without obligation for a confidential, informal chat by e-mail, text or telephone.

I hold an advanced DBS certificate
