About me and my therapy practice

I am a Psychotherapist/Counsellor and Licensed Practitioner in Eating Disorders with many years of experience. I understand how important it is to choose the right therapist so I always suggest attending an initial session to gain experience of what the sessions will feel like and to decide if you've found the right person for you. There is no obligation to book further sessions after this. I am a Person-Centred practitioner and clinical supervisor working with adults,teenagers/adolescents, as well as couples and families. I have enhanced DBS clearance and I am fully insured. I work from home in a room that is a therapeutic, private space for clients to explore their personal experiences. I have regular supervision to ensure best practice.

Practice description

I have many years of experience working with adults of all ages, and young people, adapting my approach for younger clients using creative approaches to help them explore their feelings. I also work with couples who are experiencing difficulties within their relationship. Relationship counselling focuses on helping couples communicate their experiences and feelings, and work together to resolve issues between them.

My experience includes the following areas; bereavement; relationship difficulties; anxiety and depression; low self esteem and confidence; work problems; stress; post-natal depression; historical and sexual abuse; health problems; domestic violence; anger management, rape & trauma,  eatingdisorders. I have worked in the voluntary sector, working for Derbyshire Rape Crisis, Cruse Bereavement Care and Hadari Nari Project supporting women experiencing domestic violence.
