Job Description

A day in the life of a Catastrophe Virtual Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job!

As a Virtual Property Adjuster, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our policyholders. Working remotely from your home office, your primary responsibility will involve virtually inspecting damages, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims promptly and accurately. You will interface with customers, contractors, and vendors through various software platforms such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration as well as phone, email, and text. This role places a specific focus on wind and hail claims, ensuring that our customers receive top-notch support and resolution for these specific types of claims.

Job Description

You'll wear a few hats that will require a level of experience:

  • The Customer Service Expert – you’ll live into Allstate’s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring, and you will accomplish that by being compassionate, clear, and a committed partner in each Casualty claim. You lead with empathy, always.Ěý
  • The Investigator – you’ll confidently and independently investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.Ěý
  • The Effective Communicator – you’ll use phone, emails and sometimes even video chat with customers to help them through a fast, fair, and easy claims process. You’ll also incorporate a specific approach to claim handling to offer the customer their preference of communication to efficiently discuss their claim needs and keep them updated on the claim progress.Ěý
  • The Negotiator – You will evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third party carriers and claimants, in accordance with all legal and business standard methodologies. With negotiations, you will incorporate tactics in handling challenging and complex situations.
  • The Problem Solver – you’ll utilize multiple tools to get the job done in a fast-paced environment, including estimate tools, job aids, and additional settlement platforms, all while using your sharp critical thinking skills.Ěý
  • The Recorder – you’ll protect the company financially by executing policies along policy agreements, and you keep a clear record of your work in a claims system that you will be trained on. You’ll accomplish this by ensuring timely and accurate documentation is completed as you work on each claim. Ěý
  • Uses high resolution photographs provided by virtual imagery and uses advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors to identify damages and write a damage estimate from a virtual setting
  • Conducts a detailed review of the property and writes an estimate to capture the extent of the damages
  • Reviews the policy and decides how coverage applies and provides the customer with a detailed explanation of both the estimate and the policy
  • Communicates empathetically with customers and helps them through their claims process in a fast, fair and easy manner
  • Negotiates claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies
  • Use data and analytics to tell a story and influence decision making
  • Completes and reviews contents inventory, contents pricing, and mitigation bills
  • Inspects and estimates water damage, hail damage, or smoke and fire damage in a dwelling
  • Investigates, reviews, determines and verifies moderately complex and occasionally complex coverage/policy information


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous industry experience is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant software for virtual assessments.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess property damages and accurately determine claim coverage.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with customers and stakeholders remotely.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a virtual work environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality and efficient claim resolutions.


Schedule:

  • Must be willing and available to work a Tuesday - Saturday 7am-7pm schedule.


Notice of Licensing Requirement:

  • As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license which includes passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor. ĚýIf applicable, you will be required to secure license(s) within 60 days of hire.
  • If required, the Hiring Manager will work with you along with the Centralized Licensing team to ensure that you are properly licensed.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $50,400.00 - 88,987.50 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
