American International Group Inc. has named Philip Fasano to the newly-created role of executive vice president and chief information officer. Fasano will be responsible for oversight of the company’s global information technology, including reviewing and updating technology systems and platforms, along with data management and security.
Fasano, who will join AIG in October, will report to AIG President and Chief Executive Officer Peter D. Hancock.
Fasano joins AIG from Kaiser Permanente, where he was executive vice president and chief information officer, a position he has held at several high-profile financial services firms over the course of his 30-year career.
Prior to working for Kaiser Permanente, Fasano founded Capital Sourcing Group in 2005, a company focused on providing strategic advice, and consulting services to the Fortune 500 and the Department of Homeland Security. In addition, Fasano has served in IT leadership roles at Capital One Financial, JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Financial Services, Bankers Trust, among other companies.
AIG CEO Hancock said Fasano will help AIG provide a “truly seamless technology experience to our customers, distribution partners and employees.”
